The audiobook really shines because of how Gregory weaves together these different voices and perspectives. You've got Lyda's internal conversations with her imaginary doctor, the various characters they meet along the way, and this underlying question about what happens when we start playing god with brain chemistry. It's not just about the action - though there's plenty of that - it's about responsibility, addiction, and whether we can ever really fix the damage we've done.

Gregory's got this amazing track record with awards and all that jazz, but what really comes through in the audio version is his ability to make you care about messed up characters in impossible situations. The narration pulls you right into Lyda's head, and you can't help but root for her even when she's making terrible decisions.
