The book's premise is a classic blend of action, mystery, and romance. Nora is recruited into an elite band of raiders, the Jarls, and set on a mission to track down ancient artifacts that will unleash the nine worlds of the Vikings. That's a lot of "danger" in a single sentence, and it's only the beginning. When you add in the fact that the Norse gods have given her a mystical tattoo on her back, your stakes climb to a whole new level. You see her fighting for her life, and at the same time, wrestling with feelings for a boy who is also her arch-enemy. It's a good mix of the familiar and the fresh-fans of Divergent, The Hunger Games, or Cassandra Clare's books would find something to love here.
