Book description
ENGLISH DESCRIPTION Miss Lylo's inspiring story, or how embroidery can mend, repair, and rebuild a life. "Miss Lylo pierces you intensely with needle and thread. The stitches become a language charged with subtlety and sensibility. This book is much more than a book about embroidery--it is an absolute work of art and generosity." --Agustina Guerrero "Embroidery saved me," says the narrator at the beginning. Until she turned thirty-five, her life passed by like a basting stitch. But when she decided to become a mother, a via crucis of illusion, loneliness, and guilt began, one that she walked through until she found an unexpected outlet on the frame. Today, under the name of Miss Lylo, she weaves her history of lessons, her quest for an identity, a story intermixed with that of other women, such as Jane Austen, May Morris, or Louise Bourgeois, whose paths were pierced by a needle. A moving tale full of delicacy and sweetness, an initiation guide to embroidery and life.
