The man literally cannot take a hint when the princess clearly wants nothing to do with him, her people want to execute him, and logic suggests he should probably try his luck back on Earth where the dating pool is less likely to involve capital punishment.
Burroughs delivers exactly what you'd expect: swashbuckling adventure mixed with enough romantic stubbornness to make modern rom-coms weep with inadequacy.
