Make It Nice - Audiobook Review
Listening to Make It Nice is like stepping into the grand halls of Blue Stone Manor, guided by Dorinda Medley herself. From the opening notes, her warm, conversational voice invites you in-no pretense, just the real housewife sharing her heart and humor with the same candidness that made her a fan-favorite on The Real Housewives of New York City.
What makes this audiobook truly engaging is Dorinda's storytelling rhythm. She moves effortlessly between sweeping descriptions of Berkshires landscapes and intimate confessions about love, motherhood, and loss. The narrator captures the author's trademark wit-those quick quips that keep listeners chuckling while also offering moments of genuine reflection. You'll find yourself laughing at her "oh-so-well" one-liners and then pausing to feel the weight of a story about a difficult family decision or a career setback.
The book is structured like a tour: each chapter opens with an anecdote that sets the scene, followed by life lessons Dorinda wishes she'd known earlier. For example, her tips on entertaining are not just recipes or décor hacks; they're philosophical insights into how to create comfort and joy in any setting-exactly what the title promises. If you've ever wanted a blueprint for turning ordinary moments into something memorable, this audiobook delivers.
Perhaps the most compelling part is the emotional depth Dorinda brings to her narrative. She doesn't shy away from discussing the "not-so-glamorous bumps" that shaped her path-from modest beginnings in the Berkshires to her rise as a socialite and media personality. The result is an honest, inspiring story that feels both personal and universal. Listeners can see themselves reflected in her struggles and triumphs, making the experience deeply relatable.
For fans of reality TV who crave more than surface drama, Make It Nice offers a fresh perspective-one that blends authenticity with practical advice, all wrapped up in an engaging audiobook format. Whether you're commuting, working out, or simply winding down, Dorinda's voice will keep you entertained and motivated to "make it nice" in your own life.
