They've got their eyes on a "free English" territory, which to them is just another target. But the Wersgorix are pretty clever too. After landing, they find an alien pilot-a Wersgorix who thinks he's the smartest thing on that planet-who decides to use the ship to escape to his home world. So now you've got this half-human, half-alien band of knights who accidentally stumble into interstellar warfare, with the alien traitor leading the way.

The medieval knights are all over the place, with their chivalry and their "indomitable will," while the Wersgorix are a mix of alien menace and bureaucratic efficiency.
