She's a petty thief with the moral compass of a weathervane in a hurricane, which makes her transformation into bodyguard surprisingly believable. The woman who can talk her way out of a tavern brawl can probably talk her way into protecting a rich young lady, right?
The audiobook format really shines with Waggoner's dialogue-heavy prose. Delly's sharp-tongued wit comes alive through skilled narration, making her banter with the other female bodyguards feel authentic rather than forced.
