What strikes me most about this conclusion is how Card masterfully weaves together the complex threads he's been laying throughout the trilogy. Rigg's journey from a boy who could see paths to a young man bearing the weight of saving his world feels entirely earned. The audiobook format really brings out the emotional depth of his character development, especially during those quiet moments of introspection.
The pacing keeps you hooked from the first chapter. Card doesn't waste time with unnecessary exposition-instead, he throws you straight into the action while maintaining that perfect balance between thrilling sequences and meaningful character interactions. I found myself holding my breath during the climactic scenes, genuinely unsure how our hero would escape the impossible situations he faced.
