When I connect to my car’s audio system, the audiobook on my phone automatically starts. How do I disable this in the app or on my phone?

This is a common issue on iPhones – when connected to Bluetooth or CarPlay, the system automatically starts the last audio playing. Try the following disabling options:

Disable autoplay in Apple Music

  • Open Settings → Music.
  • Disable the Autoplay option.

 
Disable Siri, which can trigger music

  • Settings → Siri and Search → Disable options like “Listen to ‘Hello Siri’” and “Allow when locked”.

Change the order of Bluetooth devices
Sometimes iPhone treats the connection as a command to resume the last playback. Try:
